SCORPIONS

The affectionate relationship between Scorpions and her Swedish audience manifests not only with Gothenburg-based drummer Mikkey Dee a few years ago. With the release of Scorpion's Rock'n Roll Star single malt whiskey Cherry Cask, the German-Swedish love affair is taken to the next level.

Matured in American ex-bourbon barrels and in former Oloroso sherry casks, but with an added finish in German sweet cherry wine barrels, the meeting between German wood influences and Swedish whiskey crafts could not have had a better result. While in the world of malt whiskey ripening of spirits in barrels with sherry, port wine or Madeira wine is relatively widespread, the use of the German sweet cherry barrels of whiskey fans is guaranteed. The cherry sweetness of the character complements the vanilla of the former bourbon barrels and the nutty, buttery aromas of sherry casks.

The band itself is thrilled when the whiskey was finally released, commenting:

"After all, we have our own Scorpions Whiskey that can be published ... we love it! This special whiskey comes in exceptional German sweet cherry wine barrels to its perfect maturity. We hope you enjoy it all ... let's rock the night and taste the trick !!! "

Angela D'Orazio, master distiller at Mackmyra, said, "Nice guys to work with! Klaus, Rudolf, Matthias, Mickey and Pawel were very nice and interested in the process. I think we have managed to get a smooth whiskey with a lovely aroma of fruity vanilla from the bourbon barrels, soft butter tones from the Oloroso sherry casks and a sweeter note from the cherry barrels. The fact that we refined both cherry and sherry gave the whiskey a perfect balance. "
